Launch first Saturn V rocket

Description:

• On November 9, 1967, the Saturn V rocket was launched for the first time. It remains the most powerful rocket to have ever flown successfully and was primarily used in the Apollo program to launch astronauts to the Moon and for launching the Skylab space station.
• How big was the Saturn V? It was 111 meters (363 feet, or about 36 stories) tall. That′s 18 meters (60 feet) taller than the Statue of Liberty. Fully fueled, it weighed 2.8 million kilograms (6.2 million pounds), or about the weight of 400 elephants. Its five F-1 engines generated 34.5 million Newtons (7.6 million pounds) of thrust at launch, creating more power than 85 Hoover Dams. This power could lift 118,000 kilograms (130 tons) into low Earth orbit, that′s about the weight of 10 school buses. The amount of fuel consumed by a Saturn V for a lunar landing mission would allow a car with 48km/gal mileage (30 miles per gallon) to circle the world 800 times.
