Mission report:

• First launch was originally planned on Dec 06, 2007. Rollout to Pad 39A on Nov 10th. Due to malfunction of fuel sensors, several delays were required.
• Space Shuttle Atlantis was launched at 1945 UTC on Feb 7, 2008 on mission STS-122, ISS flight 1E, with the Columbus module. It reached a 58 x 230 km orbit at 1954 UTC; the OMS-2 burn at 2023 UTC raised this to 215 x 233 km.

• Following a two day solo flight, Atlantis docked with the PMA-2 port on the Station at 1717 UTC on Feb 9. Transfer Eyharts to ISS and Tani to STS-122 return crew.
• The ESA Columbus Orbital Facility was unberthed from Atlantis at 1956 UTC on Feb 11 and bolted to the Harmony module at 2144 UTC.

• First EVA by Walheim and Love on Feb 11, 2008 (7h 58m) was delayed 24 hours. Originallly it was planned that Walheim and Schlegel had to do this EVA, but Schlegel became ill (propably he suffered on the space adaption syndrome), so Love had to do the first EVA.
  Depressurization of Quest at 1412 UTC and repressurization at 2212 UTC, assisting the installation of Columbus. They removed the Power Data Grapple Fixture from the payload bay at 1602 UTC and installed it on Columbus at 1659 UTC, which allowed the space station’s robotic arm to grab the module and move it from the shuttle’s payload bay to Harmony at the end of this spacewalk. Preparing work to remove the Nitrogen Tank Assembly, a part of the station’s thermal control system, from the P1 truss. The tasks took more time than planned. At time they were one full hour behind the timeline.

• Second EVA by Walheim and Schlegel on Feb 13, 2008 (6h 45m) with depress of Quest at 1421 UTC and repress at 2112 UTC; they removed the old NTA (Nitrogen Tank Assembly) on the P1 truss and temporarily store it on an equipment cart. They then installed the new one. The old NTA was transferred to the shuttle's payload bay for return home.
• Third and final EVA by Walheim and Love on Feb 15, 2008 (7h 25m) to install two payloads on Columbus' exterior: SOLAR, an observatory to monitor the sun; and the European Technology Exposure Facility (EuTEF) that will carry eight different experiments requiring exposure to the space environment. Move of a failed CMG (Control Moment Gyro) from its storage location on the station to the shuttle's payload bay for return to Earth. Depress/repress was 1306 UTC to 2033 UTC.
• Space Shuttle Atlantis undocked on Feb 18 at 0924 UTC and fired its OMS engines to deorbit at 1259 UTC on Feb 20. Atlantis landed on runway 15 at Kennedy Space Center at 1407 UTC.
