Mir Expedition EO-03. returned crew of Soyuz TM-5 to Earth. Orbits 168 x 243 km, 255 x 296 km, 333 x 359 km. Docked with Mir 12:51 GMT 23 December. 30 December moved to forward port. Undocked 06:18 GMT 17 June 88. Recovered June 17, 1988 10:13 GMT. Landed 202 km from Dzehezkazgan.

Flight

Launch from Baikonur; docking on MIR. Carried Musa Manarov, Anatoly Levchenko and Vladimir Titov to Mir.
Only 9 days after lift-off Levchenko returned to Earth (on Souyz TM-3), where he died of a brain tumour eight monts later on 6 August 1988.
Titov and Manarov became third resident crew of MIR, and make their stay one of the longest in history (at that moment). This 366 day long mission included extensive research.
Both performed EVA′s on 26.02.1988 (4h 25m), 30.06.1988 (5h 10m) and 20.10.1988 (4h 12m), to repair the TTM-telescope und to test a new spacesuit.
Landing with Soyuz TM-6-spacecraft 80 km northeast of Arkalyk.
