Mission details:

• International Launch Services and Khrunichev launched a Proton-M/Briz-M on May 16 carrying the Protostar 2 satellite.
• ProtoStar 2 (also known as IndoStar 2 and Cakrawarta 2) is a telecommunications satellite, and will replace Indostar 1 (Cakrawarta), providing comms to Indonesia. It's launched for ProtoStar Ltd in partnership with PT MNC Indovision of Indonesia, and uses a Boeing BSS-601HP platform: the platform was originally built to fly as Galaxy 8i-R.
• The satellte is owned by Protostar Ltd., which is officially based in Bermuda but with offices in the San Francisco area.
  The ILS launch annoucments talk of Protostar as a Bermuda based company; this implies that Protostar I and II should be registered with the United Nations OOSA by the UK rather than by the US.
• Satellite has a box-shaped body plus two vanes of solar panels: the mass on-station at the beginning of operations being 3,087 kg. Satellite located over 107 deg E.
• 13 s-band, 27 Ku-band transponders, covers Indonesia, India, Taiwan and the Philippines.
