Earth resources spacecraft; measure ocean surface and waves, temperatures; monitor ozone and ozone-destroying gases; ocean currents and changes in Arctic and Antarctic ice.
The telemetry is sent in S-band. The scientific data and a replication of the telemetry is sent on 2 X-band transponders.
