Description:

ASTERIA is a JPL/MIT 6U cubesat with a 6-cm optical telescope (actually a Zeiss camera lens and a CMOS detector); it will study exoplanets. The ASTERIA project replaced an earlier study for a 3U version called Exoplanetsat. It is designed by the MIT and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Mission details:

The Cygnus OA-8 cargo arrived at ISS on Nov 14, 2017. It carried the EcAMSat and TechEdSat-6 cubesats which were then loaded into the NRCSD-13 package launched previously.
NRCSD-13 was taken outside the Kibo airlock by the JEM RMS on Nov 20, 2017 and EcAMSat, ASTERIA and Dellingr were deployed.
