At the Vertical Integration Facility at Complex 41, the United Launch Alliance team erected the bronze first stage on January 3, 2013. The white-insulated Centaur upper stage was set in place on January 5, 2013. Assembly occurred aboard the mobile platform that will be wheeled to the pad a day before liftoff.

Riding the rails at Cape Canaveral's Complex 41 on Jan. 8 morning, United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket was transported from its assembly building to the pad. The mobile launch platform began rolling right on time at 10 a.m. EST and was hard-down on the pad pedestals at 10:52 a.m. EST.
