ISS Expedition 46/47.
Soyuz TMA-19M, with crewmembers Yury Malenchenko, Tim Kopra, and Tim Peake, was launched on Dec 15, 2015. Volkov, Kelly and Kornienko remain on the station during the changeover.
TMA-19M began its flyaround of ISS at 1700 UTC Dec 15. Final approach to the Rassvet module began 1708 UTC under computer control but was aborted at 1716 UTC at a distance of around 30m. Yuri Malenchenko took control of the Soyuz, backed it away from the station to assess the Soyuz' systems, then re-approached the complex for the manual docking at 17:29 UTC and docked at 17:33 UTC.
Now that the UK has begun financial support for the ESA human spaceflight program, Tim Peake's mission - named 'Principia' - is considered the first 'official' British human spaceflight mission. The first British citizen to leave Earth was Helen Sharman, who flew the commercial, mainly Soviet-funded, Project Juno mission in 1991 aboard Soyuz TM-12 to Mir, landing on Soyuz TM-11.
Other British citizens who have flown in space include Mike Foale, Piers Sellers, Nick Patrick and Richard Garriott, who have dual US citizenship and who were all born in England, and Mark Shuttleworth, who is a South African-born dual UK citizen. American astronaut Greg H. Johnson was also born in England too.
On Jun 18, 2016 Expedition 47 crew members Yuriy Malenchenko, Tim Kopra and Tim Peake transferred from the Rassvet module to Soyuz TMA-19, closing hatches at 0235 UTC and undocking at 0552 UTC. Soyuz TMA-19M made its deorbit burn at 0822 UTC and reentered for a safe landing in Kazakhstan at 0915 UTC (5:15 a.m. EDT; 3:15 p.m. Kazakh time) about 90 miles southeast of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan. Russian recovery technicians raced to the landing site in helicopters and all-terrain vehicles to pull the crew from the Soyuz landing capsule, which measures about the size of a compact car.
Malenchenko, 54, was first to exit the Soyuz spacecraft from the center seat. He has logged more than 827 days in space on six spaceflights, good enough for second on the all-time list for time in space.
Peake was second out of the capsule, concluding his first trip into space and logging 186 days on the Expedition 46 and Expedition 47 crews. His mission was sponsored by the European Space Agency.
Kopra emerged last from the left seat of the Soyuz, completing his second space mission. His career time in space now totals 244 days after two stints on the space station in 2009 and in 2015 and 2016.
