Description:

• SOYUZ-TMA 11M carries a crew of three and an Olympic torch bound for the International Space Station, the centerpiece of an out-of-this-world photo op to herald the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. In a departure from normal practice, the Soyuz launch schedule was juggled to get the Olympic torch to the space station and quickly back to Earth as part of a high-profile relay leading up to the opening ceremony of the Winter Games in February. As a result, the Soyuz TMA-11M crew launching Wednesday will boost the lab's crew to nine instead of six as is the usual procedure.

Mission Report:

• ISS Expedition 37-38. Moved forward from Nov. 25, 2013.
• Soyuz TMA-11M was launched on Nov 7 carrying Mikhail Tyurin, Rick Mastracchio and Koichi Wakata, and docked with the Rassvet module at 1027 UTC the same day.
• Astronauts Kotov and Ryazanskiy made spacewalk VKD-36 from the Pirs module on Nov 9, 2013. They carried an (unlit, of course) Olympic torch for a publicity event, which was carried out successfully.

• On May 13, 2014 the Ex 39 crew of Tyurin, Mastracchio and Wakata transferred to Soyuz TMA-11M leaving the ISS under the control of Ex-40 commander Steve Swanson and FEs Arteme'v and Skvortsov. ISS is in a 413 x 417 km x 51.7 deg orbit.
• Soyuz TMA-11M undocked from the Rassvet module at 2236 UTC on May 13 and made the deorbit burn at 0105 UTC May 14. Landing in Kazakhstan came at 0158:30 UTC on May 14.
