Cargo spacecraft "Progress M-36"

Mission details:

• Progress M36 was launched by a Soyuz-U rocket from the Baikonur cosmodrome on Oct 05, 1997 at 15:08 UT to dock with and deliver 3,000 kg of fuel, water, and equipment (including a new replacement computer) to the MIR space station. It orbited around for three days waiting the undocking of the earlier Progress M35.
• Progress M-36 docked with the Kvant module on Mir at 17:07 UTC on Oct 8 using the Kurs automatic system.
  It also carried a German mini-satellite, Inspector, to be used in inspecting the outer surface of the damaged MIR and a replica of the first Soviet satellite, Sputnik 1.
• Progress M-36 undocked from Mir on December 17 at 06:02 UT and flew out to a range of 700 m. The X-Mir Inspector miniature satellite, built by Daimler-Benz Aerospace, was deployed at 07:35 to take pictures of Mir, but its navigation system failed and it drifted away from the station.
• Progress M-36 was deorbited at 16:20 UTC on Dec 19.
