LAser GEOdynamic Satellite
American scientific program operated by CNR/PSN/NASA
Series of satellites designed to provide an orbiting benchmark for geodynamical
studies of the Earth. Mission: accurate measurement of satellite's position
with respect to Earth; determination of the planet's shape (geoid) and
determination of tectonic plate movements associated with continental drift.
