Soviet direct TV-built satellites financed by The Land Group, a Chinese non-state sector company.

On the 2 first satellites, 2 transponders are said to have failed

Intersputnik has plans to operate Gals R12 satellites from 1997 on. (5 to 7 years lifetime, 12 Ku-band transponders (27 MHz), 2400 W.

Gals R16 satellites could also be launched in 1999. 16 transponders each for DBS services, those transponders would be manufactured by a Western supplier.
